LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person is dead after a house fire near Iroquois Park.

Firefighters were called just after 5 a.m. Friday to a home on Iroquois Avenue near Grant Avenue.

Fire officials say they found 67-year-old Gary Newton in what they believe is the T.V. room.

Lieutenant Colonel Jeff Botner says the fire was so hot the roof collapsed and spread to a home next door. He says the fire damaged a wall and the attic. No one was hurt in that fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
