Kentucky Distillers' Association creates new position to combat underage drinking

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky's booze industry is paying someone to combat over-drinking and underage drinking.

Louisville native Ali Edelstein starts in January as the Kentucky Distillers' Association social responsibility director. She's the first person to ever hold the position.

The hiring comes a few months after a state law took effect allowing tourists to sip cocktails and purchase more whiskey during distillery tours.

KDA officials say the job was crafted before the law was enacted.
