LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An in-school security monitor at Waller-Williams Environmental School has been placed on indefinite suspension following an incident in September in which a student was allegedly injured.

Ronald McDonald was suspended without pay on Oct. 5 after his supervisor received a report that he caused an injury to a student by pushing him into the school's Positive Action Center on Sept. 26, according to information obtained by WDRB News through an open records request.

WDRB initially requested McDonald's personnel file on Oct. 19, but it was not provided to the television station until Wednesday.

Jennifer Brislin, a district spokeswoman, told WDRB on Thursday that details about the incident, including how the student was hurt and what injuries the student received, were still under investigation.

"This investigation is ongoing, so I'm not able to comment on it," she said.

Waller-Williams, located on Rockford Lane, is for students with severe and profound emotional and/or behavioral disabilities.

District records show he has worked for JCPS since October 1993. He was hired as a substitute bus driver and then as an in-school security monitor at Western Middle School. It's not clear how long he has worked at Waller-Williams.

His personnel file shows a written reprimand in 2001 for pushing/throwing a student against a locker at Western Middle.

McDonald was also investigated by JCPS in April 2016 for allegedly hitting a student on the back, but those claims were found to be unsubstantiated.
