LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police say a teen and an infant have died after a crash that happened on Friday.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. in Shelby County, according to Kentucky State Police spokesperson Bernis Napier.

Officials say officers with the Shelby County Sheriff's Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on Ky. 55 Taylorsville Road, near Old Brunerstown Road.

According to police, a 1998 green Subaru was heading south on Ky. 55 Taylorsville Road, when the driver tried to make a left turn onto Old Brunerstown Road. Police say the green Subaru entered the path of a 1999 red Dodge SUV, that was traveling north on Ky. 55 Taylorsville Road.

Authorities say the Dodge SUV hit the Subaru on its passenger side; this caused the Subaru to go over an embankment.

Officials say there were four people inside the Subaru. The driver and one of the passengers were taken to U of L Hospital.

Police say a 19-year-old female passenger was taken to Jewish Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

1-year-old Dennis Lee Chapman, who was also inside the Subaru was pronounced dead at Norton Children's Hospital, according to police.

The driver of the Dodge SUV was taken to Jewish Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
