LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's an attempt to build the world's largest nutcracker, right here in Louisville.

The 39-foot-6-inch nutcracker was unveiled Saturday at PriceWeber on Shelbyville Road.

That unveiling was part of a preview party for the Louisville Ballet's annual production of The Brown-Forman Nutcracker.

Advertising agency PriceWeber says someone came up with the idea to take the bell tower outside, wrap it up, and turn it into a nutcracker.

"We've been working on it for a year, and this is the result. We just want the community, everybody in Greater Louisville and Middletown to just enjoy what we're doing and have some fun with it and take a selfie," said Dan Dry with PriceWeber.

The Nutcracker runs Dec.10-22 at the Kentucky Center.

The current record for the largest nutcracker is in Germany, which is just over 33 feet tall.
