LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – The Louisville Cardinals run at the College Cup came to an end Saturday.  

The Cardinals were shut out by Stanford in an Elite 8 matchup at Lynn Stadium, losing 2 nil. 

The game was scoreless until the second half when the Cardinal finally got one past Louisville goalie Stefan Cleveland.  Junior Foster Langsdorf scored on a header off a corner kick to put Stanford up 1 nil in the 64th minute.

The Cardinal would add another 15 minutes later off a free kick from red shirt sophomore Sam Werner

Louisville ends the season with a 14-6-2.
