Kentucky State Police collects donations to help families in need

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police are helping needy families this season.

If you were at Kroger Sunday, you may have seen some troopers collecting items for the Cram the Cruiser Food Drive.

Over a dozen Kroger locations in Kentucky were taking donations as part of the campaign.

Food pantries across the state are asking for items like peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, and cereal.

"These are donations back to the community. We just want to be the intermediary, just be the man power and then provide an avenue for those items getting from the people who want to give to the people who need it the most," Trooper Josh Lawson said.

The Cram the Cruiser Campaign continues through Dec.12.

You can contact your local KSP Post to find the donation location closest to you.
