LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Students from Notre Dame Academy spent Monday morning Christmas shopping for other children.

Forty sixth-graders at the school have been raising money for St. Vincent de Paul's "Gifts from the Heart" program. They convinced family and friends to donate by writing a persuasive letter.

The school has sponsored 20 children, and Monday's shopping trip let the students buy items on the children's wish lists.

The students spent at least $100 on each child on their list. The school has had a partnership with St. Vincent de Paul for several years.
