LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Lawmakers in Frankfort are getting a bonus: millions of dollars to use in the general fund.

Attorney General Andy Beshear says he'll transfer $2.8 million to Kentucky's General Fund from his office's settlement with Volkswagen.

The Attorney General sued the automaker, claiming its diesel emissions cheating scandal violated the state's consumer protection law.

Beshear says state lawmakers may use the money to spend on their priorities.
