LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – The next phase of developer Steve Poe’s River Park Place project is one step closer.

The Waterfront Development Corp. on Wednesday approved construction of the third apartment building on the riverside land near River Road and Frankfort Avenue, according to deputy director Mike Kimmel.

The new building will be seven stories tall with an underground parking garage. It will have 110 units, according to plans filed with Louisville Metro Planning and Design.

RiverPark Place already includes the four-story Waterside East and Waterside West apartment buildings. Those buildings have one-, two-, and three-bedroom units renting from about $700 to $3,000 a month.

The new building could get underway next year and be completed in 2018.
