Indiana DNR recruits visit Corydon nursing home

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A recruit class of the new Indiana Department of Natural Resource officers visited a nursing home in Corydon on Thursday morning.

It's part of their training meant to work on their interpersonal skills. They talked with some of the elderly residents and were required to try and keep the conversation going.

"With having the lost art of conversation, what better place to do that than people who have lost the opportunity to have conversation or maybe have minimal conversation," said Dennis Talley, a master conservation officer. "So it's a win-win situation."

Next week, they will introduce their new friends to the training forum at the academy in Plainfield, Ind.
