Southern Indiana man saved after falling in Harrison-Crawford State Forest

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana man was saved after falling in the middle of Harrison-Crawford State Forest.

Ronald Harris, 59, of Corydon, was out in the forest Wednesday afternoon when Harrison County dispatch received a call from his relatives, concerned for his safety.

Officials went out to the forest, where they found Harris' vehicle in the parking area along Old Forest Road. Using a GPS ping of Harris' phone, Indiana Conservation Officers employed their K-9 team, which located Harris. He was blue and unconscious on an include with his airway constricted by s small tree he has fallen onto.

Harris was treated for hypothermia and flown to University Hospital in Louisville.

Indiana Conservation Officer, the Harrison County Sheriff's Department, the Harrison Township Fire Department and Harrison County EMS all aided in the search.
