Carrier union leader says he will work with Trump to save jobs

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The union leader at Carrier in Indianapolis has vowed to work with President-elect Donald Trump to keep jobs in the country.

Union president Chuck Jones says he harbors no ill-will toward Trump and says their "feud" is overblown. This comes after Jones called out the president-elect for lying about the number of Carrier jobs he saved from going to Mexico.

Then Trump tweeted that Jones "has done a terrible job representing workers. No wonder companies flee the country!" Jones says saving Hoosier jobs is more important than the feud.

The whole thing revolves around the same thing I've been preaching all along-- corporate greed and unfair trade.

Jones says if Trump is sincere about keeping jobs in the U.S., the union will work with him.
