LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- University of Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson spoke with the media Friday afternoon, one day before the winner of the 2016 Heisman Trophy is scheduled to be announced.

Jackson is a favorite to win the 2016 Heisman Trophy.

"Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson will win the 2016 Heisman Trophy," wrote WDRB sports analyst Rick Bozich in a recent column. "The award will be presented to him in New York City around 8:30 p.m. Dec. 10. That’s my prediction. Jackson won’t be the runaway winner that he appeared to be before Louisville (9-3) finished its regular season with stumbles against Houston and Kentucky, sliding out of contention for the College Football Playoff. But after collecting opinions from 26 national media members who cover college football, most of them Heisman voters, I’m comfortable projecting a Jackson victory."

On Friday afternoon, Jackson told the press that he was honored to be considered for the Heisman Trophy.

"It's an honor. I'm happy," he said, adding that, "I'm humbled. Anyone can win it. I've got to let them vote."

"I'm just humbled by everything that's coming to me," he said.
