LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The first American to orbit the Earth will lie in state.

John Glenn died Thursday at age 95.

Glenn will lie in state in the Ohio Statehouse and a memorial service will be at Ohio State University. The dates and times are still being worked out.

Glenn was the last of the original "Mercury Seven" astronauts. When he was 77 years old, he became the oldest person to travel in space.

Glenn also represented Ohio in the U.S. Senate for 25 years, and briefly made a run for President in 1984.
