LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two University of Louisville football players were reportedly shot Sunday morning at an off-campus apartment.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. on Manor Park Drive near The Retreat apartment community.

Officers found a male and female shot. Both were taken to University Hospital and are expected to recover from their injuries.

A third person later showed up at the hospital. Police believe that person was shot at the same location. The victim's injuries are not considered serious.

Sources close to the team tell WDRB News that junior linebacker James Hearns and sophomore linebacker Henry Famurewa were shot at a party at the apartment near the university.

Hearns, a native of Tallahassee, Fla, led the Cardinals this year with eight sacks and 11 tackles for loss. Famurewa, a Powder Springs, Ga., native, appeared in nine games and finished the regular season with 10 tackles and two sacks.

Students who live in the area say there was a party to watch Lamar Jackson win the Heisman Trophy when it happened.

"I mean it's a gated community. They're pretty controlling about who comes in but it's all up to who people bring in. This was supposed to be a night we were celebrating Lamar and people should be able to feel safe when they're celebrating and be with friends and stuff like that," Brianna Rogers said.

No arrests have been made in the case and police are looking for information. If you know anything, you're asked to call the Louisville Metro Police anonymous tip line at 574-LMPD.
