LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- St. Vincent de Paul's Santa Shop is helping make Christmas special for 2,000 children this year.

That's nearly triple the amount of kids last year.

The organization transforms its gymnasium into a mini-mall and invites families to shop for free Christmas presents for their children.

"You just get to help so many people  and you don't know the impact you make  until you're actually here helping them out and it just makes you feel good because you know that you're making someone else's Christmas so much greater than your own," said Natalie Fichter, who volunteered at the event.

This is the 20th year for the event.

The toys, clothing, and various other gifts are all donated.

By the end of the shopping trip, the presents are also wrapped and ready to be put under the tree.
