LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man accused of committing a murder that took place on Guardian Court over the weekend appeared before a judge Tuesday morning.

A not guilty plea was entered on behalf of 24-year-old Terrence D. Downs.

Louisville Metro Police says its Fugitive Unit and 9th mobile arrested Downs early Monday.  He is charged with murder, robbery and tampering with physical evidence, wanton endangerment and possession of a hand gun by a convicted felon.

Officers were called to Guardian Court off Preston Highway about 1 a.m. on Saturday.  When officers arrived, they found 24 year old Ronnie Reed, who had been shot in the torso.

Reed was taken to University Hospital and later died in surgery.
