Pleasureville man accused of trying to electrocute woman in bathtub
A Pleasureville, Kentucky, man is accused of using a curling iron in an attempt to electrocute his girlfriend while she was taking a bath.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Pleasureville, Kentucky, man is accused of using a curling iron in an attempt to electrocute his girlfriend while she was taking a bath.
According to an arrest warrant, it happened on Thursday, Dec. 8, in Shelby County.
Police say 23-year-old Gregory Preston got into an argument with his girlfriend. While she was taking a bath, he allegedly plugged in a curling iron and threw it in the bathtub.
According to the arrest warrant, she was able to get out of the tub, "prior to the onset of death."
At that point, Preston allegedly barricaded the front door of her home, took her car keys and destroyed her cell phone, refusing to allow her to leave.
A warrant was issued for Preston's arrest on Tuesday, Dec. 13. He was arrested by the Henry County Sheriff's Department later that day.
Preston is charged with attempted murder, criminal mischief and unlawful imprisonment. He's currently being held in the Shelby County Detention Center.
