LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Final exams are over. It’s time to squeeze in the Kentucky-Louisville game before conference play begins.

But first, my latest greatest ballot for the Associated Press college basketball Top 25 poll.

Start carving.

1. Villanova (11-0) — If the Wildcats survive back-to-back road games with Creighton (Dec. 31) and Butler (Jan. 4) beware.

2. Baylor (11-0) — The Bears play host to the mighty Mike Davis Texas Southern road show Wednesday night.

3. UCLA (12-0) — The Bruins at Oregon Dec. 28. Be there.

4. Kansas (10-1) — The Jayhawks and Baylor don’t play until Feb. 1. I checked.

5. Duke (10-1) — Harry Giles is expected to make his debut against Tennessee State tonight.

6. Kentucky (10-1) — Now that he’s gone for 47 points, Malik Monk seems like a safe choice for the first guy to go for 50 this season.

7. North Carolina (10-2) — No punishment for losing a one-possession game to Kentucky.

8. Louisville (10-1) — The next four games will determine if the Cardinals deserve to be higher, lower or right in this spot.

9. West Virginia (9-1) — Who says nothing good comes on social media? Bob Huggins thanked everybody for the love he earned for win #800.

10. Gonzaga (11-0) — I like the Zags’ chances of being the last unbeaten.

11. Butler (10-1) — If not for that silly loss to Indiana State, the Bulldogs would be sitting in the Top 10.

12. Creighton (11-0) — One-point home win over Oral Roberts? Warning light!

13. Wisconsin (10-2) — The steady Badgers have quietly won six straight since their 15-point loss to UNC in Maui.

14. Purdue (9-2) — Matt Painter’s team looked terrible in the first half against Notre Dame, then terrific in the second half.

15. Indiana (8-2) — The Hoosiers are 0-2 against teams from the state of Indiana.

16. Virginia (9-1) — I don’t know why the Cavaliers are playing at California Wednesday, but they are.

17. Oregon (10-2) — The Ducks will be the team to watch after Christmas because they start league play by hosting unbeaten UCLA and unbeaten USC.

18. Saint Mary’s (8-1) —Best win: Dayton, a team Northwestern just beat.

19. Florida State (11-1) — Leonard Hamilton’s team gets Scott Padgett and Samford tonight.

20. Virginia Tech (9-1) — I’m ahead of the curve with the Hokies because they only have three Top 100 wins.

21. Arizona (10-2) — The Wildcats don’t get a crack at UCLA until mid-January.

22. Xavier (9-2) — The Musketeers have won three by four points or less in addition to their two defeats.

23. Florida (8-3) — The three losses are to Gonzaga, Duke and FSU.

24. South Carolina (9-1) — The Gamecocks could not beat Seton Hall without their best player, Sindarius Thornwell, who remains suspended.

25. Cincinnati (9-2) — Mick Cronin’s guys are the ones to beat in the AAC.
