Louisville man charged after home invasion

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is facing serious charges after police say he was involved in a home invasion. 

According to the arrest report, it happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 600 block of North 29th Street. When officers arrived at the home, they found the suspect, 34-year-old Demetrius Sweat, trying to leave with property. 

The victim told police Sweat forced his way into the home with a gun and demanded $100 in cash before trying to leave. Police say the incident was captured on the victim's surveillance camera. 

Police found the gun in a trash can next to Sweat.

Sweat was arrested and charged with first degree burglary and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He's being held on a $50,000 full cash bond.
