Kentucky ranks high on CDC report for states with most overdose deaths

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky is one of the worst states in the nation where people die from a drug overdose.

A new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report ranks Kentucky third in the nation for most drug overdose deaths. 

West Virginia comes in at Number One. New Hampshire is Number Two. 

There were more than 52,000 overdose deaths in the United States, mostly from opioids like heroin.

Since 1999, overdose deaths have tripled.
