Grand jury to hear case of woman accused of killing LMPD officer, UK employee in DUI crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The case against the woman accused of killing an LMPD officer and a UK employee in a DUI crash is headed to a grand jury.

Suzanne Whitlow, age 26, is charged with manslaughter and DUI. Police say she hit LMPD Detective Jason Schweitzer and UK employee Timothy Moore in October in Lexington. Both died at the hospital.

Whitlow spent several days in the hospital before being booked into the Fayette County Detention Center. Almost a dozen LMPD officers went to Lexington today for Whitlow's hearing.

"There was so many more people that wanted to come," said Keith Heselschwerdt. "He was somebody that will talk to everybody. Somebody who had time for everybody. That's what happened during the accident, he was actually talking to somebody."

A grand jury will decide if there's enough evidence to indict Whitlow on her charges.
