LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A local fraternity is celebrating the holidays by helping men who've fallen on hard times.

The Omega Psi Phi Louisville chapter served a holiday meal to the residents at the Chestnut Street YMCA men's shelter Monday night.

"To me, they have become like family to me now," Dapo Akers, a resident at the shelter. "I see the same guys sharing the same love every year. It's really nice when I see them."

"The men here look just like we look," said Larry Mucker, a member of Omega Psi Phi. "This is a way we can give back. It could be our cousins, our uncles, it could be our fathers. This is one way we can give back to those who look like us."

It's something the group does around all the holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fourth of July and Father's Day.
