VA hospital staff fields healthcare questions from Louisville veterans

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Area veterans got the chance Tuesday night to let VA officials know about problems they're having with their healthcare.

The department of Veterans Affairs held a town hall meeting at the Robley Rex Medical Center. The hospital's director, Martin Traxler, was there to address issues involving their healthcare, benefits and claims.

"We need them to know that we care about them," Traxler said. "We create the care that we do because they've earned it. So we look at our access into all of our clinics, access into surgeries and into in-patient stays and do our very best to make sure that we are ready to provide them the service when and where they need it."

VA hospital staff also provided information on a variety of programs and services. They were also able to get their annual flu shots.
