Lexington teacher puts retirement message on billboard

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDRB) - This is the last year Marian Sims will be teaching at Lexington schools, so she wanted to leave her current and past students with a message.

She leased a billboard at the corner of Euclid Avenue and East High Street in Lexington. It reads: "Mrs. Sims still loves you & prays for you! You & your families have all blessed my life in so many ways. Be safe & continue to bless this planet. Thank You & God Bless You. Remember... Love Love & Hate Hate"

Sims said the billboard was a way to thank her thousands of former students and show how they've all impacted her life.

A majority of her career was spent at Cassidy Elementary and Morton Middle schools.

The billboard will stay up until January 5th.
