Authorities identify man killed in truck crash on Dixie Highway
Police say a dump truck turning southbound on to Dixie Highway was rear-ended by a pickup truck.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have identified a man who died in a truck crash on Dixie Highway late Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, that man has been identified as 59-year-old Charles E. Dodson, a resident of New Albany.
Louisville Metro Police Department spokeswoman Alicia Smiley says it happened around 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 14600 block of Dixie Highway, near the LG&E Mill Creek plant. That's when a dump truck turning southbound on to Dixie Highway was rear-ended by a pickup truck.
Dodson was driving the pickup truck according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is listed as blunt impact injuries to the head, torso and extremities, according to the coroner's office.
No other injuries were reported.
