Families hold vigil to remember homicide victims during the holidays

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- While many loved ones gathered Sunday to celebrate the holidays, others remembered the ones they have lost.

The family members of Cameron Pugh and Larry Williams met at Newburg Calvary Cemetery to release balloons in honor of the two men who were murdered four months ago.

About 40 family members talked about the men and raised awareness to the 116 murders in Louisville this year.

Cameron's mom said Christmas is the day her family needed to come together.

"I thought to stay in the bed and keep the blankets up but I wanted to come out and show some sort of love and support because a lot of people reached out and wanted to come and visit so we put something together," Angela Williams said.

No arrests have been been in either of the murders.
