Gov. Matt Bevin creates scholarship program for students going into high-demand fields

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin says he has a plan to get more high school students to go into high-demand fields.

Bevin has created a college scholarship program to make it happen. He signed an executive order this week that will pay tuition for high school graduates looking to get two-year degrees for some jobs.

Those include positions in the health care, transportation and logistics, advanced manufacturing, business services, Information Technology and construction fields.

Bevin set aside more than $15 million for the program.
