Three die in plane crash near Smoky Mountains

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three people died in a plane crash near Tennessee's Smoky Mountains Tuesday afternoon.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reports 42-year-old Kim Smith, 41-year-old David Starling and his eight-year-old son Hunter died in the crash in eastern Tennessee.

Investigators say the single engine-plane took off Monday from Jacksonville, Florida.

The three victims were traveling to Gatlinburg to spend time with family.
