ST. MATTHEWS, Ky. (WDRB) -- A fight in the parking lot of the Mall St. Matthews is now going viral, and both sides spoke only with WDRB on Wednesday.

Both parties in that now-viral video are standing by how they acted, saying it was self-defense that was caught on camera.

In the video shot by a witness in the Cheesecake Factory parking lot, several men can be seen fighting with a man and a woman. The man and woman were both punched, and the man was knocked out.

The couple has been identified as 25-year old Christina Johnson and 36-year old Michael Cook.

According to Johnson, three men in a car pulled out in front of her and Cook. The men have been identified as Marcus Clark, Isaiah Robertson and Sidney Taylor.

Cook became agitated, got out and approached the men in the car, and the group began fighting.

That’s when Clark saw the woman with a knife.

“She had a knife in her hand," Clark said. "Then she put it away and closed it and put it in his pocket, and as we got close, we confronted each other and we started fighting."

Christina Johnson tells WDRB she admitted to having a knife and was ready to use it if needed.

“If I pulled my knife out – and I did – and if they would have come at me, I would have stabbed one of them,” Johnson said.

Both sides say the fight, which has gone viral, is something they regret being involved in, but neither are making apologies for their roles.

“It could have been handled differently," Isaiah Robertson said. "We shouldn’t have gotten out of the car, but at the same time, we were just in the moment. It’s just a lesson learned."

Neither Johnson or her boyfriend were seriously hurt, and no one has been arrested. Both sides say they have no plans to file charges.
