LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A vehicle pursuit involving the Clarksville Police Department ended in a crash on the Sherman Minton Bridge.

The chase began around 7 p.m. on Lewis and Clark Parkway.

Chief Mark Palmer with Clarksville Police says officers saw a driver acting erratically and ran his plates when they found he was wanted for first degree robbery in Kentucky.

The driver, David Fant, refused to stop, which began the chase. He rammed a Clarksville officer's cruiser on State Road 62 and rammed the back of another police vehicle before wrecking on I-64 on the bridge.

But even after the chase, Fant resisted arrest. Several officers received injuries on their hands while trying to arrest him. One received stitches and another has bruising and possible fractures, Chief Palmer said.

Fant is now in custody, charged with robbery, resisting arrest and reckless endangerment, among other charges.

All eastbound lanes of the Sherman Minton Bridge were closed while offers arrested Fant.
