LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – UK junior running back Stanley “Boom” Williams says he will enter the NFL Draft and pass up his senior season.
Williams rushed for 2,511 yards in his three seasons at Kentucky, seventh most in UK history. He ran for 1,170 yards this year.
In a news release from the school, Williams said a lot of things played into the decision.
“Me and my family talked (Friday) night, just finalized the decision (Friday) night and told Coach Stoops after the game,” Williams said following UK’s 33-18 loss to Georgia Tech in the TaxSlayer Bowl.
Head coach Mark Stoops says he met with Williams’ family and gave them the information he had received from the NFL.
“I appreciate all of Boom’s efforts for this program and what he’s meant to this team,” Stoops said. “He’ll always be a part of the Wildcat family.”
