LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Elizabethtown Police say they've arrested a man who sexually abused a woman inside a Hardin County motel room, then threatened to have her killed if she told police what happened.

According to an arrest citation, it happened on Sunday, Jan. 1, at 5 a.m. at the E'Town Motel near the corner of E. Dixie Avenue and Bishop Lane in Elizabethtown.

Police say 37-year-old Marshawn Goldsmith forced a woman into his motel room by pulling her inside. Implying that there was a handgun in the room, he then allegedly forced her to sit in a chair and told her he was going to rape her -- and possibly kill her. He told her that he was part of a gang, according to the arrest report, and if she told anyone what was about to happen to her, he would send 10 people to kill her.

Police say he then sexually abused her.

An accomplice stood by the door of the room to make sure no one got out or came in, according to police.

Police arrested Goldsmith hours later. He is charged with first degree sexual abuse and is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.
