Some southern Indiana schools to offer virtual exams for students

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Southern Indiana schools that don't have a nurse on duty will offer students an alternative.

Students in Crothersville, Austin, and Southwestern Jefferson County Schools can now be examined by licensed medical professionals via video chat. It's the second school-based telehealth clinic in the Hoosier state.

Parents will have to pay for the digital exams, either using insurance or by paying out-of-pocket.

The school must get parents' permission before the telehealth visit.
