LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- She was supposed to be cleaning homes, but instead, Louisville Metro Police say she was stealing jewelry.

Investigators say Lacy Anderson took almost $40,000 worth of jewelry from homes she was hired to clean.

It happened between May and December of 2016. Police say she took several pieces of jewelry from at least three victims, including a diamond wedding ring worth almost $9,000.

Investigators say she sold the items at pawn shops, and that's how they tied her to the crime. She's charged with theft.

A not-guilty plea was entered for her in court Friday.
