LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky lawmakers are considering changing the age at which children can be held responsible for crimes.

Senate Bill 220 would increase that age to 12 years old.

Right now, some kids as young as four face juvenile charges in Kentucky.

The bill's sponsor says it would not mean serious crimes committed by young children would be ignored.

He says most children would benefit more from counseling or mental health treatment.
