Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana has landed nearly $11 million to help fight the opioid epidemic.

The recently passed 21st Century Cures Act funded the federal grant. Indiana U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly pushed for the act, which includes a total of $1 billion over the next two years to fight opioid and heroin use.

In Indiana, the money will be used to pay for prevention efforts, treatment and recovery services.
