Heavy fire damages 20-30 units of apartment complex in southwest Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Twelve families were displaced Tuesday night when a fire broke out at the Broadleaf Apartments in southwest Louisville.

Heavy smoke and fire could be seen coming from the attic of the building in the 4500 block of Broadleaf Drive near Cane Run Road and Shanks Lane.

Multiple calls came in on the fire around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Twenty to 30 units were affected, and 19 people were displaced in total.

The Lake Dreamland Fire Department said no one was hurt in the fire. The Red Cross was on hand to help the families affected.
