LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Clarksville police say a man questioned in connection with the shooting of a Metro Corrections officer last Saturday has been cleared.

Police say someone broke into the officer's home on East Carter Avenue in Clarksville on June 24. The officer, who has not been identified, was shot in the shoulder and is expected to be OK.

Clarksville police said the officer told responding officers the suspect ran away after firing several shots.

The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

"He's doing well," said Metro Corrections FOP President Tracy Dotson. "He's recovering. He's with relatives right now. Bullet went in the shoulder and exited. It was just one round though several round were fired. He is doing well."

The officer, a 5-year veteran of the Louisville Department of Corrections, was taken to U of L Hospital and released around 3 a.m. Sunday.
