SCOTTSBURG, Ind. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police arrested a man Thursday who had escaped Monday from the Muhlenberg County Jail in Kentucky.
Anthony White, 49, led ISP troopers on a chase in his tan Nissan Altima around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The chase started in Washington County on Highway 56 and ended in Scott County near Highway 56 and Boatman Road.
White and a Kelly Ann Dooley, 40, who was also in the car, ran into the woods upon being caught. Troopers set up a perimeter and arrested them both soon after.
Police had been on the lookout for the tan Nissan Altima in the Scott County area.
Troopers say Dooley helped White escape and flee to Indiana.
“He was on his way to or from court. We’re not really sure," ISP Sgt. Jerry Goodin said. "A female pulled up ... he jumped in and they took off. We had received information that they could be in the Scott County, Indiana area."
White and Dooley face charges in Kentucky for escape and in Indiana of fleeing law enforcement. White was serving time in Muhlenberg County after being convicted of theft, trafficking heroin, multiple misdemeanors and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
