UPDATE: Coroner rules death of Frankfort 3-year-old a homicide
Authorities say they have also been able to determine the child's cause of death.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The death of a 3-year-old boy who was rushed to a Frankfort hospital has been ruled a homicide, according to the Fayette County Coroner's Office.
The Frankfort Police Department says 3-year-old Avery Hose was unresponsive when Frankfort Fire and EMS brought him to the Frankfort Regional Medical Center on Sunday, June 25. He was then transferred to the UK Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington for further treatment.
The Coroner's Office says he died at around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
His body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy. On Friday afternoon the cause of death was determined to be "blunt force trauma" -- and the case was ruled a homicide, according to the coroner's office.
No charges have been filed at this time.
