LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Starting Saturday, it will cost Indiana drivers more to fill up at the pump as the state's gas tax goes into effect July 1.

Prices will increase by 10 cents per gallon, just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, when gas prices typically surge anyways.

The state legislature passed the increase to help pay for a 20-year infrastructure and road improvement plan. The move is expected to generate about $1.2 billion by 2025.
