LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Coroner's office has identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash Saturday night.

It happened just after 11 p.m. on the ramp from I-264 east to I-64 east.

Police say the motorcyclist, identified by the coroner as 21-year-old John Barnett of Prospect, was passing a car at a high rate of speed and cut into the left lane.

As Barnett left the right curve, he ran off the road and into a grassy gore, losing control of the bike in the middle of the I-64 ramp to the I-264 westbound ramp to I-64 east.

Barnett was not wearing a helmet when the crash occurred. He was taken to University hospital where he later died from multiple blunt force trauma.
