LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 5-year-old boy is dead after being pulled from a lake at a beach in Indiana.

According to a release, Indiana State Police say conservation officers responded to the Mounds Beach at Brookville Reservoir just before 3 p.m. Tuesday on a call of CPR in progress on a toddler after a possible drowning.

Police say a 10-year-old girl was swimming when she touched what she thought was a body. She told her dad, who found Anderson Ramierz under the water. He and two bystanders pulled the toddler to shore and started CPR.

Conservation officers arrived on scene and located the boy's parents, Benjamin and Ofelia Ramirez of Cincinnati. They had been searching the boy, who had been missing for 5 to 10 minutes.

Ramierz was taken to the hospital where he later died.
