LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Friday marks one year since the Ark Encounter opened in northern Kentucky.

Officials say thousands of guests visit the 510-foot-long reproduction of Noah's Ark each day.

There are 132 exhibit bays inside the massive structure, including a talking Noah, family living quarters and animal displays.

Since the park opened in July of 2016, more than 1 million people have visited.

Officials expect that number to be closer to 2 million for 2017.
