LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The public now has a $5,000 incentive to find a killer in southern Indiana.

A $5,000 reward is being offered in the murder of 66-year-old James Bryson, who was killed in December in French Lick.

"There's really not a whole lot when we're looking at this case of, 'Hey this gives a lead.' We don't have that, " said Indiana State Police Sgt. Philip Hensley.

Bryson was last seen alive on Christmas Eve and was found dead in his home three days later.

"I'm very thankful (there is a reward), because we're not comfortable with this happening out here," said neighbor Beth Brewer.

Police believe someone who knew Bryson killed him, because detectives found no signs anyone broke into the house.

"We hope this will be what it takes to kick start somebody," Hensley said. "Above all, we want to know who did it."
