Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Approximately 90 pounds of explosives stolen from a Jeffersonville, Indiana, construction site have been recovered, according to a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Justice.

News of the recovery came down Friday afternoon. The spokesman said the explosives were found in Clark County, Indiana, with the assistance of the Jeffersonville Police Department and the Clark County Sheriff's Department.

No other information was immediately available.

Earlier this week, the Louisville branch of the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) had asked for the public's help in finding the people who stole the nine bags of explosives in Jeffersonville last month.

The theft happened between June 8 at 4 p.m. and June 9 at 6:30 a.m. ATF said a person or persons broke into an explosives magazine trailer at the River Ridge Development site in Jeffersonville and stole nine 10-pound bags of ammonium nitrate blasting agent.

ATF was offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information in the case.

Anyone with additional information should call ATF at 1-888-ATF-TIPS, email ATFTips@atf.gov or text to 63975 using the code ATFLOU.
