LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Doctors at Norton Immediate Care Centers say they are seeing an increased number of patients who are experiencing symptoms of a summer stomach bug.

Officials say the symptoms can include vomiting, diarrhea, sweating and lack of appetite.

The bug can be treated by drinking lots of fluids, getting lots of rest and staying home to avoid spreading the virus.

The virus can be prevented by washing your hands, and using hand sanitizer when washing your hands is not an option.

Officials say the symptoms will usually subside in about two or three days, but if symptoms persist, it's recommended you see your primary care provider.
