JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- A fatal crash shut down a busy highway for several hours in southern Indiana on Thursday afternoon.
Christina Harvey, 51, was involved in the crash at State Road 62 and Patrol Road in Clark County around 12:45 p.m. She was pronounced dead at University Hospital about an hour later, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. She died of multiple blunt force trauma.
Greater Clark County Schools said Thursday night that Harvey had been a teacher at Charlestown Middle School for 15 years.
“Mrs. Harvey was loved by staff and students for being kind and running her classes with a compassionate heart," GCCS Superintendent Andrew Melin said. "She was exuberantly proud of her family. The CMS family will miss her tremendously.”
The crash involved a semi and several other vehicles. State Road 62 was closed north of Kerry Ann Way during the investigation.
The road reopened about 4 p.m.
